JOIN US to hear the extraordinary sound of voices combined with brass and woodwind instruments.
The warmth of Anton Bruckner’s Mass No 2 in E Minor for double SATB chorus and wind instruments (1896) contrasts with Igor Stravinsky’s Mass for a Mixed Chorus and a Double Wind Quintet (1948), which the composer described as “very cold music, absolutely cold, that will appeal directly to the spirit”, and is ideally complemented by Edmund Rubbra’s atmospheric Veni, Creator Spiritus for Mixed Chorus and Brass (1966).
The choir will be accompanied by the City Wind Ensemble.
We look forward to welcoming you to St. Saviour’s Church to hear some wonderful music, then to meet the performers and enjoy some refreshments in the hall afterwards.
