Season 2019-20

The first concert in our 2019-20 Season is the biennial St Cecilia Festival Society concert in October. Along with Radlett Choral Society, St Albans Symphony Orchestra, Hardynge Choir and Vivamus, we will be performing music with a nautical theme.
In November, close to St Cecilia’s Day, we present a varied programme of music dedicated to its Patron Saint.
Our Early Music concert in February has Spanish Mystics as its theme, with Tomás Luis de Victoria’s Vespers, Geoffrey Burgon’s Dos Coros and readings from the writings of St Teresa of Avila and St John of the Cross.
In April, we present two contrasting settings of Psalm 110 – Dixit Dominus – by Handel and Scarlatti.
The Season concludes in June with the second concert in our Bach Cantatas series. We will be joined once again by outstanding soloists from Amici Voices and by the Lawes Baroque Ensemble, led by Miles Golding.
We look forward to welcoming you at our concerts, which are generally followed by a social get-together, with drinks and party nibbles provided by the choir members
