The joint concert was a great success! A combined choir of 70 singers, 20-person orchestra with 4 fantastic solo instrumentalists, and a superb performance by our boy-soprano from the cathedral choir.

We are delighted to be welcoming our friends from Wormser Kantorei, the choir from our twin town of Worms, in Southern Germany, to join us for this concert. 2025 marks over 55 years of our joint biennial concerts, celebrating unity through the connection of music.
This concert is all about partnerships and the joy that comes from connections. Requiem in C Minor reconnects us with the work of Antonio Salieri, who was left forgotten until his portrayal as the bitter rival to Mozart in the film Amadeus in the 20th century. It is the only large scale Requiem Salieri wrote, after dedicating most of his compositions to opera and stage.
Also writing for the stage, over 100 years later, was Leonard Bernstein, famous for West Side Story, Candide and many others. We are highlighting his sacred work Chichester Psalms, which has at its heart a Brotherhood of Man – a friendship between all people across all nations.
The final partnership is that of Flute and Harp in Wolfgang AmadeusMozart’s Double Concerto. Treated as equals, the flute and harp engage in a back-and-forth dialogue, each having its time in the spotlight, yet neither dominating the piece, giving the Concerto a playful yet collaborative feel.
